iPad 2, Google si fondatorul Facebook sunt printre invingatorii galei Gadget Awards 2011.
Unul dintre cele mai populare site-uri de IT si tehnologie din Marea Britanie, organizeaza anual o gala de desemnare a celor mai tari gadgeturi, aplicatii sau personalitati din domeniul IT. Categoriile editiei Gadget Awards 2011 organizate de T3.com au fost: inovatia anului, cel mai tare gadget pentru jocuri, aplicatia anului, cel mai bun magazin online, televizorul anului, cel mai tare gadget de calatorie, telefonul anului, cea mai tare platforma digitala, brandul anului, gadgetul cu cel mai bun design, gadgetul anului, cea mai buna camera foto, personalitatea anului, calculatorul anului, cel mai tare gadget pentru muzica, tableta anului, cel mai tare gadget pentru job, cel mai bun gadget pentru acasa si cel mai bun accesoriu.
Telefonul anului 2011 a fost desemnat Samsung Galaxy S II, in defavoarea unor competitori puternici precum iPhone 4, HTC Sensation sau Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc. Cea mai buna camera foto a fost Canon PoweShot G12, devansand modelul D3100 de la Nokon, iar tableta anului a fost desemnata iPad 2, in detrimentul modelul concurent Galaxy Tab.
Google a fost desemnat brandul anului, devansand Facebook si Apple, iar cel mai bun gadget pentru job a fost ales Blackberry Bold 9780, desi au fost nominalizate la aceeasi categorie si celebrele iPhone 4 si iPad 2. Titlul de cel mai bun receptor TV a fost adjudecat de Samsung UE55D8000 in defavoarea unor modele precum Sony Bravia sau Panasonic Viera.
Amazon Kindle a fost ales cel mai bun gadget de calatorie, invingand competitori redutabili perecum iPad 2, iPhone 4 sau Galaxy Tab 7, iar Microsoft Xbox Kinect a fost preferatul gamerilor, devansand Playstation 3 si Nintendo 3DS, adjudecand in acelasi timp si tiltul de gadgetul anului. Nu a fost uitat nici fondatorul Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, ce si-a adjudecat titlul de "Gadget Personality".
